Applicant eligibility
In order for an online loan application to be considered, applicants have to be at least 18 years old and resident in Australia. Applicants also need to have a regular after tax income of at least $500 per week. This may also include government benefits and pensions. As part of the final screening step in assessing loan applications, MoneyBuddy conducts formal credit checks and credit report inquiries with Credit Reporting Bodies (CRBs).
Moneybuddy is built on responsible lending. Applicants will need to show that they can comfortably meet their required loan repayments without hardship. A formal credit check with CRBs serves as a final screening step to evaluate repayment capability. If approval of the loan would place an applicant at risk of being placed into financial hardship as a result of borrowing money from Moneybuddy, we will not be able to approve the loan.
Electronic Authorisation
By submitting a loan application, applicants agree and consent to receiving the Moneybuddy Guide, information statement, credit contract and other documents relevant to an approved loan by email and/or by SMS, and by the member log-in area via our website. We may use information about customers for the purpose of providing them with credit, for direct marketing of products, and to enhance services offered by us or any of our associates. In the event that an application is declined by MoneyBuddy, applicants expressly authorise and consent to having their personal, financial, and bank statement data supplied via Credit Sense automatically transmitted through Credit Sense Lead Market to alternative licensed lenders and financial service providers for potential alternative loan offers.
The information provided by customers will be held by us. Customers can gain access to the information held about them by contacting us. Customers have the right to request to not receive direct marketing material by advising us at any time. If customers do not provide us with their personal information, we may be unable to provide a loan.
